The White Rock Renegades ’03 competed hard against Delta Heat ’03 on Wednesday, April 9 and carded their first win in LMSC league play.  Playing as the visiting team at North Delta Park,  the ’03 Renegades kept the game close and battled at each trip to the plate.  In the final inning the Renegades were down by 2 runs 10-8.  The girls buckled down and focused on getting the job done.  At bat the girls produced a double, a couple of singles, walks, steals to max their 5 runs with a score of 13-10.  Our closing pitcher held them to only 1 run in the final 3 innings.  Great Work Renegades ’03!

Feb 22, 2014 // WR Renegades '97 and '99 team up to get fit

Every Tuesday and Saturday the Renegades '97 and '99 join together for pre-season fitness classes!  For the past 5 months, these teams have been working hard to get in the best physical fitness they can for the upcoming 2014 season.  With full spring tournament schedules ahead, they will need all the endurance and strength to put forth the very best effort they can.  It’s great to have the 97’s push the 99’s to their limits and vice versa. These girls have not only built up their strength but also built relationships with each other as well!  Good luck to both teams this season!

Feb 20, 2014 // WR Renegades ’03 Compete in Las Vegas

A new era began with the youngest White Rock Renegades team taking their first road trip.  The White Rock Renegades ’03 enjoyed an exciting Team-Building trip competing in the Valentine’s Day Blast in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The Renegades faced tough competition and managed 2 wins and a tie, playing 8 games against strong 10U teams through 2 days of play at Desert Bloom Park.  The coaches were very impressed with the hard work, dedication, sportsmanship and endurance the players showed against their  competitors.  We are looking forward to our season ahead and competing in our Ice Breaker Tournament April 4 - 6 at Softball City.  Go Renegades ’03!

Feb 13, 2014 // WR Renegades '01 kick off 2014 season in Las Vegas

Renegades '01 started the season off with a strong showing at the Valentine Blast Tournament in Las Vegas this past weekend.  The first year 14U team's skills were challenged, playing up a division and seeing the new  ASA pitching distances stretched out to 43'.  The Team worked hard and met these challenges head on and competed in 5 games against teams from California and Nevada.  The coaches are pleased with the Team's grit and determination over the weekend.  The Team is looking forward to the upcoming season.

Feb 12, 2014 // WR Renegades 99 gear up for 2014 season

The White Rock Renegades 99 team has busy over the past 6 months preparing for an exciting 2014 season!  We have a very busy tournament schedule this year with several local tournaments, as well as travel to Seattle, Denver, Phoenix, and hopefully Nationals in Brampton, Ontario!

Our girls have been very busy with fundraising over the past few months with bottle drives, raffles and hot dog sales!  We have just completed our 5th, YES 5th, bottle drive!  We have been very successful at raising funds to offset costs associated with the tournaments.  Our community has been very generous; we had a gentlemen give us a vintage Renegades coaches jacket, and more recently an '82 alumni gave us some of her old gear to pass down!  Not only were we able to raise funds for our team, but we had the opportunity to let our community know how passionate our girls are about softball!

Thank you to those who contributed to our Team's fundraising efforts.  We truly appreciate your support!

Nov 1, 2013 // Mark Dunlop Wins Softball BC Coach of the Year!

A big congratulations to Mark Dunlop for being awarded Coach of the Year at Softball BC's awards banquet! We are so proud to have Mark as part of our coaching team with the White Rock Renegades, and know that he will continue to have many successes in his coaching career.

Mark came into the softball world at the age of 18. Coming from playing hard ball, he quickly learned the skills to excel at the game of Men’s Fastpitch. He played in the Steveston Senior Men’s League, winning three Western Canadian Championships. Mark then made his way to play Senior A for the Vancouver Grey Socks out of Memorial Park in Vancouver.

Mark retired from competitive fastpitch to take on a coaching position with the White Rick Renegades 97 in 2006. The Renegades came off of their most successful year yet, with seven tournament wins and wrapping it up with a Canadian National Championship Gold Medal in O’Leary, PEI.

Oct 5, 2013 // Renegades 97 Undefeated in First Tournament of the Year!

The White Rock Renegades 97 started off their season with a bang as they went undefeated at the Absolute Blast College exposure tournament in Kent, Washington over the September 14/15 weekend.

This was the first 18U tournament of the season for the Renegades 97 after picking their new team and coming off a National title in August. The first game was a 2-0 win against Team Mizuno which was due in part to a strong pitching performance from both pitchers, Julia Wright and new team-mate Lindsay Blattman. Sophia Gray had a solo home-run and new team-mate Taylor Uyeno went 3-3.

Game two was a solid 10-4 win against the Diamond Dusters, in which the Renegades found themselves down 4-0 before the bats came alive. Sophia Gray hit her second home-run of the tournament and Shaelyn Ogilvie went 2/3 at the plate.

Game three of the day was a 4-3 win against a very tough opponent - the Washington Ladyhawks. The Renegades played great defence and Rae Samuleson was the offensive difference going 2/3 with 3 RBI's.

Sunday was just as successful as Saturday, with two wins over Washington Illusion (9-1) and Washington Speed (4-2). Sophia Gray ended her terror at the plate with three home-runs over the weekend and Olivia Priestlay went 2/3 at the plate.

Overall, the team had a great weekend and will look to continue their success throughout the fall and next spring as they prepare for the 2014 season!
